back to basics web is the brainchild of web coder Paul Baldowski and consultant Richard Parrott, and was formed in mid-2003.

Paul Baldowski is an Information Analyst who has been working with the Web since 2000, and has been worrying about some of the websites that turn up on the Net since first getting online in 1995. Paul has constructed more than 30 web sites, from basic home pages like Boreders.com to customised community platforms like dollSearcher. A sound grounding in abstract and product design has left Paul with the solid belief that "If it doesn't look quite right, it probably isn't."

Paul has worked for Capital One, EDS and Alliance & Leicester Bank, managing to bridge the gaps between marketing flare and the realities of modern technology. He currently works part-time as a freelance writer in the roleplaying game publishing sector.

Richard Parrott has accumulated over 20-years of experience in information systems, technology, and education. He has worked as a contractor for companies such as EDS, TRW, Litton/PRC, Loral Aerospace, and Cubic. Richard currently consults to small businesses as an IT business analyst, and teaches graduate computer information systems for Boston University.

While preparing a syllabus for a Web programming class at Park University, Richard realized that both the curricula and textbooks used to educate today's computer science students were too cluttered with fads, flash, and divergent technologies.

Richard is a member of the Association For Computing Machinery (ACM), International Society (ISOC), Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), and a charter member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, Kappa Chapter Nova Southeaster University.

Richard has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from San Diego State University, a master's degree in computer information systems from Boston University, and a PhD in computer information systems from Nova Southeastern University.
